The Muller Thurgau from the “Sofi” line of Franz Haas is a fresh and easy-drinking white wine, with a delightful aromatic profile and a vibrant personality. It is part of the line named after Franz Haas's daughter, Sofia, who expressed from childhood a strong desire to have a wine that bore her name and was accompanied by her own label. Years later, this project was realized in a line aimed at a young consumer, characterized by a delightful, cheerful, and carefree drinkability.
“Sofi” Muller Thurgau by Franz Haas is made from 100% Muller Thurgau grapes, sourced from vineyards located at altitudes ranging from 500 to 800 meters above sea level. Being situated in different areas of Egna, Montagna, and Aldino in the province of Bolzano, the vineyards utilized by the Franz Haas winery exhibit different characteristics and exposures, allowing for the expression of the various facets of the variety. After harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery and pressed there. The must spends a short time in contact with the skins, so as to increase the aromatic extraction. Alcoholic fermentation and aging for 5 months take place in stainless steel containers. A final period of rest in the bottle makes the wine ready for marketing.
Franz Haas “Sofi” Muller Thurgau has a lively straw-yellow color. The bouquet is intensely fruity and floral, with hints of yellow peach and primrose. The pleasantness of the fruit does not hinder the elegant definition of the sip, which, with vibrant freshness and fine sapidity, enhances the sunny simplicity of this white. It seems born specifically to brighten cheerful dinners in the company of friends.
