The Sagrantino di Montefalco by Antonelli San Marco is a very intense, rich and complex wine, aged for 24 months in wood, another 12 in cement and at least one year in bottle. It emanates sensations of humus, balsamic herbs, dried flowers, spices, fruit and tobacco. On the palate it is robust, warm, savory and very long

The Montefalco Sagrantino by Antonelli San Marco is the wine symbol of the territory, the one that best tells the story and character of the great reds of Umbria. It is a wine of great structure, with intense aromas and dense tannins, requiring a long aging period to reach a full and harmonious expressive maturity. It is a wine with a strong personality, expressing notes of underbrush, spices, and rich red fruit with a long-lasting taste persistence. Due to these particular characteristics, it enhances pairings with braised dishes, slow-cooked meats, or game at the table.

The Sagrantino Montefalco is the iconic wine of the territory, produced by a historic producer. The Antonelli family has been present for 5 generations in Montefalco and today owns one of the largest and most important estates. It can count on about fifty hectares of vineyards, within a property of 170 hectares, which also includes olive groves, woods, and pastures. The vineyards are managed under organic farming practices, fully respecting an unspoiled nature. Healthy, genuine, and high-quality grapes are vinified with great care and delicacy, with the aim of always keeping the varietal characteristics and the truest and most authentic face of the terroir in the foreground.

The Sagrantino Montefalco produced by the Antonelli San Marco winery is one of the great Italian aging reds. Its power and structure ensure extraordinary longevity over time, with significant aromatic evolutions. The grapes come from vineyards cultivated in the municipal territory of Montefalco, in the San Marco area, on hilly slopes at an altitude between 300 and 400 meters, with a southern and southwestern exposure. Fermentation takes place in steel with a long maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 6 months in tonneau, for 18 months in large oak barrels, for 12 months in cement tanks, and finishes the aging process with another 12 months in the bottle. In the glass, it has a deep and intense red color. The bouquet expresses dense and rich aromas of red fruit, shadowy hints of humus, spicy sensations, notes of tobacco, and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it shows remarkable structure, with an important tannic texture and a rich and complex sip that extends towards a very persistent.
